Russia hails 'very positive' OPEC oil cut decision: minister

Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak today said OPEC's surprise decision to cut oil output was very positive although he said he hoped Russia's own production would stay at current levels.

"It was a very positive decision yesterday," Novak said of the Organisation of the Petroleum Exporting Countries agreement to cut oil production. "We are looking to keep current production volumes at the achieved level.
