Scolded by mother for missing school, Std 5 student ends life

A boy, studying in Class 5, allegedly committed suicide here, apparently after being scolded for missing school, police said today.

The boy was reprimanded by his mother for not going to school. He allegedly committed suicide yesterday by hanging himself to a window when family members had gone to a hospital, they said.

The mother complained to police about the incident, they added.
