Sebi participates in IITF to spread financial literacy

To spread financial literacy and investor education, capital markets regulator Sebi is participating in the India International Trade Fair being held here.

Sebi, in association with other securities market institution like BSE and NSE, has set-up a pavilion 'Bharat Kaa share Bazaar' in the 36th India International Trade Fair 2016 (November 14-27), markets watchdog said in a statement.

Sebi's theme in the exhibition is 'Learn the language of securities market'.

It will spread awareness about commodity derivatives, initial public offer (IPO), ASBA facility, demat, hedging, online trading, uniform KYC (Know Your Client), Mutual Funds, Systematic Investment Plan and market cap, among others.
 

It will also display live demo of Sebi Complaints Redress System (SCORES), financial training courses and career opportunities in securities market.

Efforts have also been made to spread investor education and awareness including cautioning the public at large against illegal money mobilization schemes through variety of activities such as talk shows by market experts, quiz competitions and other live activities to put across the message in an effective manner.

Sebi, in recent years, has conducted over 40,000 such workshops all over the country.
