Security forces recover, destroy IED in Valley

Security personnel today found and destroyed an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) planted by suspected militants at Shalteng on the Srinagar-Baramulla road, police said.

The IED was inside a cloth bag left by the roadside and was detected by security forces patrolling the area.

A bomb disposal squad was rushed to the spot and the IED was destroyed in a controlled explosion, police said.

No damages were caused by the explosion of the IED, they added.
