Shantanu Gotmare appointed PS to Power Minister

IAS officer Shantanu P Gotmare has been appointed as Private Secretary to Power Minister Piyush Goyal.

Gotmare, a 2004 batch IAS officer of Assam Meghalaya cadre, has been appointed as PS for five years or on co-terminus basis with the minister's tenure, said an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT).

Gotmare, who hails from Maharashtra, is presently serving in Assam.

Goyal was looking for a young and dynamic IAS officer, preferably with an engineering and management background, for appointment as his private secretary.

He had also asked the interested candidates with "proven integrity" and track record to send their CVs directly to him.
