Police today arrested six persons for allegedly beating up owner and staff of a used car showroom in Edappally near here.
Police took the action against the culprits after local TV Channels aired visuals of a gang comprising a local leader of ruling CPI(M) and members of its trade union wing CITU forcefully entering in the showroom and beating up the showroom owner and staff.
According to police, they resorted to violent force in the showroom after they allegedly got information that the showroom owner and his staff had locked up a man from Wayanad who had bought a used car from the showroom.

Police said the man from Wayanad had bought an Innova car from the used car showroom.
He bought the car after the showroom managament had convinced him that it had run 60,000 kms. Later, it was found that the car had run 2.5 lakh kms.
When he approached the showroom owner asking him to take back the car and give him back the money, he was locked up inside the showroom. This led to the violent incident inside the showroom, police said.
