Six persons, including five from Bengaluru, were killed and two seriously injured in a collision involving a SUV and a truck on a four-lane state highway near here, police said.
The truck driver was among those killed.
The mishap occurred when the SUV, carrying six persons from Bengaluru, swerved into the opposite lane after the driver lost control of the vehicle and rammed into the oncoming truck, District Revenue Officer Shankar said.

"Five persons in the car and the truck driver died on the spot. The truck cleaner and one person in the car, identified as Megha, were seriously injured. They have been admitted to the Government Hospital here," he told PTI.
The SUV was heading towards Krishnagiri from here while the truck was on its way from that town to Dharmapuri.
Police suspect that the SUV might have been overspeeding when the mishap occurred.
