Soybean prices firmed up by Rs 39 to Rs 3,826 per quintal in futures trading today amid speculative positions builit up by participants, driven by a firming trend at the domestic spot markets and positive global cues.
At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, soybean for most-active delivery in March month was trading higher by Rs 39, or 1.03 per cent to Rs 3,826 per quintal, having an open interest of 88,530 lots.
Also, soyabean for delivery this month contract moved up by Rs 37, or 0.99 per cent to Rs 3,770 per quintal, having an open interest of 9,290 lots.
Marketmen said apart from strong demand in physical markets, a firming trend at the overseas markets, mainly attributed rise on soyabean prices at futures trade here.
