Step-daughter set ablaze by father, dies

A man allegedly killed his teenage step-daughter by setting her ablaze when she was sleeping, police said today.

The incident took place last night in Dumerkha village of the district.

The girl was taken to a government hospital with serious burn injuries and was subsequently referred to PGIMS, Rohtak, where she died.

The accused Sant Ram, who is absconding, had earlier aksi tried to electrocute the girl, police said.
