The anti-corruption bureau has arrested Upper Tribal Commissioner Bhaskar Pandurang Walimbe and District Health Officer Dr Rameshwar Janardan Paradkar while accepting bribe in separate cases.

ACB yesterday also arrested Kalidas Chandrabhan Meshram, a junior clerk in the office of Additional Commissioner, Tribal Development.

ACB sources said that an owner of a building rented by the Tribal Development Department met Walimbe last month seeking payment of outstanding rent of Rs 15 lakh.

Walimbe sent him to Meshram, who asked for a bribe of Rs 25,000 on Walimbe's behalf.

After the owner complained to ACB, a trap was laid, and Meshram was arrested red-handed while accepting the money. Walimbe was also arrested.

Dr Paradkar was caught red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 from medical officer Dr Amol Gite. Gite had been issed notice over increase in children and maternal mortality rate in Tembrusonda area of Chilkhaldara tehsil.

Paradkar allegedly sought bribe for thwarting possible action against Gite.
