: Two persons allegedly involved in printing and circulating counterfeit notes were arrested here today and Indian currency with a face value of Rs 26,000 recovered from them, police said.
Sixteen notes in the denomination of Rs 500 and 160 in the denomination of Rs 100 were seized from them, they said.
The duo were nabbed based on information over large-scale printing and circulation of counterfeit note in around Western parts of Tamil Nadu. CB-CID took up investigation arrested five persons from various places in the region, with printing based in Tiruchengode, police said.

Based on information given by them on the arrival of two persons, the sleuths kept a vigil in the city railway station and arrested the duo and seized the currency from them.
Both were produced before a court and remanded to custody, police said.
