Unhappy over declaring details of buyers to the VAT department, traders from over 50 associations in Delhi today met the VAT commissioner to seek redressal to the issue.

The traders will also raise the issue with Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday.

"The VAT department has made it mandatory to fill the DS-1 form (Delhi Sulabh) from June 1.

"Under this form, the traders have to share details like the name of the buyer, his TIN no, details of the vehicle in which the good are to be sent. Now, Delhi is a wholesale distribution hub and sends goods across the country. So, it is practically impossible to do this," said Birjesh Goyal, convenor of the AAP Trader's Wing.

He added that over 80 per cent of the traders are not computer friendly.

"We met VAT Commissioner S S Yadav and have told him about the issues we are going to face. He did not assure us any relaxation, but said that he will look into the matter," Goyal said.

He added that over 200 traders association will meet Kejriwal and raise the issue with him.
