Truck operator sentenced for life for killing driver

A truck operator was sentenced to life imprisonment by a court here for killing a driver six years ago.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Arvind Rai also slapped a fine of Rs 22,000 on the convict Satnam Singh yesterday after holding him guilty.

Singh had killed the driver, Kashmir Singh, and looted 400 bags of cement on March 2, 2009 on a highway in Sikheda area of the district, government lawyer Raju Mahley said.

Later, the police recovered Kashmir Singh's body and arrested the truck operator, Mahley said.
