All physically unfit commandos of the Manipur police will be removed from the force to reduce its strength from 1800 to 1600, Director General of Police Mrinal Kanti Das said here today.
A high-level committee will be formed soon to identify such commandos and their physical and other tests will be conducted for the purpose, Das told reporters here.
Their personal life will also be checked and if any one is found to have done any criminal act, he would be removed from service, he said.
Fit officers will be allowed to work till the age of 50 and other personnel till 45. All will be imparted further training, he said.
