UNICEF team in Ghaziabad to know intricacies of policing,

A delegation of UNICEF today reached here to know the intricacies of policing and its welfare programmes.

The team was headed by the regional director of south Asia MS, Jean Gough, administration sources said.

District Magistrate Ministhy S apprised them about human trafficking unit, district child protection unit, district legal services authority, special juvenile police unit and child welfare committee.

She discussed about the victim's compensation scheme which is required to strengthening the victim of trafficking, sexual abuse, acid attack and rape, the sources said.

City Superintendent of Police Akash Tomar and Circle Officer (crime) Anup Singh briefed them about anti-human trafficking unit.
 

Tomar told them how district police rescued six trafficked victims of West Bengal and busted a major sex racket releasing 15 minor girls.
