Volkswagen moves Kodumudi to US, gets Lauermann as India head

Volkswagen India today said its incumbent president Mahesh Kodumudi will take over a position at Volkswagen Group, America and will be replaced by Andreas Lauermann as its new president and managing director.
A statement from the company, which also owns Audi and Skoda, said Kodumudi will continue to act in an advisory role at Volkswagen India in the coming months.
The new appointments are effective July 1, the Pune-based company said in a statement.

Lauermann was earlier with the Volkswagen headquarters at Wolfsburg in handling the central group production strategy and planning. Lauermann joined Volkswagen in 1997.
Kodumudi joined the Volkswagen Group in 2008 and had been heading India operations as president and managing director since March 2013.
