A wanted person facing charges of murder and dacoity was nabbed following an armed exchange with police during which an accomplice of his received a bullet injury in outer Delhi's Begumpur area this evening.
According to police, a team led by the Assistant Commissioner of Bawana sub-division, which was tracking the wanted person, identified as Deepak (28), intercepted his vehicle in the Begumpur area.
Deepak and his associates allegedly opened fire on the police team, forcing it to retaliate. During the exchange, a bullet hit Deepak's accomplice, identified as Ashish (25), near the chest, before all four accused were overpowered by police.

"Deepak was a criminal wanted in several cases, including of murder, attempt to murder, robbery and dacoity," DCP (Outer) Vikramjit Singh said.
While three of the accused have been identified as Deepak, Ashish and Pradip, the age and identity of the fourth accomplice is yet to be ascertained, a senior official said.
Ashish was rushed to hospital by the police team and underwent surgery following which his condition was stated to be out of danger, the official added.
