WB shooters bag 10 gold in G V Mavalankar eastern zone meet

Shooters from West Bengal bagged 10 gold medals in the five-day G V Mavalankar Eastern Zone Shooting Championship which concluded in Ranchi today.

West Bengal shooters won 10 gold, 5 silver and 6 bronze while the ones from host Jharkhand got 6 gold, 4 silver and 4 bronze medals.

Bihar got 2 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze while Assam got only a silver.

Altogether 240 shooters from six eastern states West Bengal, Jharkhand, Bihar, Assam, Chattisgarh and Andaman and Nicobar Islands participated in the Championship, said Ananta Kumar Sen, president of Jharkhand Rifle Association.

Sen told PTI that shooters from Chhatisgarh and Andaman and Nicobar Islands failed to win any medal.
