Woman commits suicide over dowry harassment: Police

A woman committed suicide allegedly due to harassment for dowry in Ballabgarh area here, police said today.

According to the complaint filed by the victim's brother Mangal Dev, his sister was "physically and mentally" tortured by her husband, Rahul, and mother-in-law, Beleharvanti, over dowry forcing her to commit suicide yesterday, they said.

A case has been registered under relevant sections of IPC against the accused, police said, adding investigations are on in the matter.
