A youth drowned and another has gone missing in the river Ganga during immersion of Durga idol in Nadia district on Friday night.
The body of 20-year-old Prabir Das was fished out on Saturday morning, while search is on for his friend Rakesh Ghosh.
The two, as members of a local club, had gone to the river at Nakashipara Patuly Ghat for immersion of Durga idol on Vijaya Dashami, and slipped into deep water, police said.
Local administration launched rescue operation with speed boats and the body of Prabir was found. Rakesh, however, remained untraced still Saturday afternoon.
