Dr Raman Ramachandran is new CMD of BASF India

Succeeds Prasad Chandran, who relinquished the position with effect from September 30, 2013

The Board of Directors of BASF India Ltd has appointed Dr Raman Ramachandran as the new Chairman & Managing Director with effect from October 1, 2013, subject to the approval of the Central Government and the shareholders. He succeeds Prasad Chandran, who relinquished the position with effect from September 30, 2013. He will continue as an advisor to the company until March 31, 2014.

Dr Ramachandran carries a Master of Science and a PhD in Agriculture, and has over 25 years of diversified experience in research, operations, new market development and strategic planning. He joined BASF in 2000, and before his current role as Senior Vice President, Crop Protection Asia Pacific, he has held several senior management positions in the company, including two years as a Director on the Board of BASF India Limited from 2006 to 2007.
