Skipper Ltd, a flagship company of the SK Bansal Group and a leading player in power transmission & distribution (T&D) and PVC pipes industry in India, has secured two orders worth Rs 120 crores from Power Grid Corporation of India Limited for the supply of transmission towers in the domestic market.
This is the second order bagged by Skipper’s T&D business in last one month. In February this year, the company was awarded new orders worth approximately Rs 500 crores for domestic transmission tower supply & EPC line construction from Uttar Pradesh Power Transmission Corporation Ltd & Teesta Valley Power Transmission Ltd (a PGCIL JV company), and for exports to Egypt.

In addition to strong pipeline of orders from both domestic and international markets for its engineering & infrastructure business segments, Skipper has also submitted tenders worth over Rs 2,500 crores during the current financial year and expects to see a significant portion of those getting converted into the order books going forward.
Besides, Skipper Limited is in process of capacity expansion for polyvinyl chloride (PVC) pipes, its other business segment. As a part of this exercise, the company commenced trial production of its PVC plant in Sikandrabad (Uttar Pradesh) last month.
With the Sikandarabad plant, which has an installed capacity of manufacturing 6000 MTPA of plumbing and agri pipes, Skipper’s total PVC pipes capacity has been increased to 35,000 MTPA. As part of its national expansion program, Skipper Limited will soon be commissioning its fifth plant in Hyderabad.
