Punjab Kings and Royal Challengers Bengaluru lock horns once again in Match 37 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The much-anticipated clash will take place today at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur.  RCB skipper Rajat Patidar won the toss and decided to bowl first against PBKS today.  Interestingly, the two sides recently battled it out just under 48 hours ago in a rain-shortened 14-over contest in Bengaluru, where Shreyas Iyer’s Punjab Kings emerged victorious by five wickets.
Tim David ahead of the match: It’s going to be different conditions out here being a day game, different pitch. We’re going to have to be at our best to get one back over these guys. Feel like I’ve been batting well, been working on stuff and that’s working. I look to put pressure on the opposition. If we bat well, I’m not required. Ideally walking in at 250/0 in the 15th over would be great. I enjoy watching them bat and try and do what I do when I get a chance. (On travelling) I wouldn’t say comfort but definitely confidence, we’re a good team and we know we can challenge anyone. We’ve been struggling with consistency, especially at Bangalore.

RCB's season has taken an unusual turn, as they’ve managed to maintain a perfect record in away games, while failing to win a single match at home. In contrast, Punjab Kings (PBKS) have been consistent across venues and are among the four teams currently sitting at the top of the IPL 2025 points table with 10 points. Their confidence is high, with most of the batting unit in good touch. However, their overseas batters remain a concern, as none have truly delivered impactful performances yet. The team dropped Glenn Maxwell in the last match at Chinnaswamy, opting to continue with Josh Inglis. It remains to be seen if any adjustments will be made for today’s clash.

RCB, meanwhile, have more pressing selection dilemmas. Liam Livingstone has struggled with form, and a change could be imminent. Jacob Bethell and Romario Shepherd are waiting in the wings, and a shake-up might be necessary if the team hopes to bounce back.
