Bodies of 2 men, suspected to have been stoned to death, found in two places in Ranchi

The bodies of two men, suspected to be stoned to death, were recovered from two different areas in Ranchi, police said. One body was found near the Banas Pond in the Chutia police station area on Saturday morning, while the other was recovered near a tent house located between Kishoreganj Chowk and Bada Talab in the Kotwali police station area on Friday evening, they said. Tripura urges NHIDCL to build highway underpasses in Mungiakami elephant corridor

Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar has convened a meeting with the Union home secretary and the legislative secretary to discuss the issue of linking voter identity cards with Aadhaar amid allegations of fudging of electoral roll data. Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated the first phase of the revamped police academy at Dergaon in Golaghat district. He also laid the foundation stone for the next phase. After the inauguration, Shah was apprised of the facilities at the 'Lachit Barphukan Police Academy' by DGP Harmeet Singh. Shah then took a tour of the building, where senior officials also clicked photographs with the home minister. He was accompanied by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and Union minister Sarbananda Sonowal, among others.

Explosion outside temple in Amritsar, no injuries reported

An explosion took place outside a temple in Amritsar, damaging its walls and shattering its window panes, officials said. While no one was hurt in the incident, it has caused panic among the residents in the Khandwala area of Amritsar. CCTV footage of the incident shows two unidentified persons coming to the Thakur Dwar temple on a motorcycle. After waiting for a few seconds, one of them throws some explosive material towards the temple and then they flee the spot. Amritsar Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said police were informed about the incident around 2 am by the temple priest. He said he and other senior officials reached the spot.
