An all-party parliamentary delegation led by Congress leader Shashi Tharoor will meet members of the US Congress, American officials, think tanks and policy experts to brief them on Operation Sindoor, terrorism faced by India and regional security. The delegation arrived in the US capital Tuesday and will have packed days of engagements till Thursday. The multi-party group will be engaging with members of the US Congress, American think tanks and media professionals.

Govt eases SEZ rules to push electronics, chip manufacturing
The government has unveiled a series of policy relaxations aimed at boosting high-tech manufacturing, including semiconductors and electronic components in special economic zones (SEZs). According to a gazette notification issued by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the minimum land requirement for setting up such SEZ units has been reduced from 50 hectares to 10 hectares. The relaxed norms will apply to sectors including semiconductors, display module sub-assemblies, various other module sub-assemblies, printed circuit boards, lithium-ion battery cells, mobile and IT hardware components, hearables, and wearables. These changes, under the Special Economic Zones (Amendment) Rules, 2025, came into effect on June 3, 2025.

Sebi warns investors against fake messages misusing its name and logo
Markets regulator Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) has issued a warning to investors and the general public about fraudulent messages falsely claiming to originate from the regulator. These messages, circulated on various platforms, misuse Sebi’s logo, letterhead, and even the names of its officials, according to a Press Trust of India report. The regulator said that in some cases, individuals received fake messages from senders impersonating Sebi officials. These included forged documents, such as notices demanding payment of fines on social media to avoid regulatory action.
