Gurdaspur (Punjab), Jul 31 (ANI): Former Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) minister Sucha Singh Langah was acquitted by a local court in a rape case filed against him by a woman constable of the Punjab police in 2017. After he was acquitted Langah said, "I want to thank god for the justice I got in the court. To win the elections, the Congress had falsely accused me of the rape case. The way you have paved for yourselves, nobody would be spared. I am sure Congress is not going to win the elections and it's the SAD that will win it this time." Singh was booked in Gurdaspur on the basis of the complaint of a woman constable of the Punjab Police. He had been escaping custody by remaining underground. His Lawyer Karan Singh said, "In the hearing that took place today, Langah has been acquitted in the case of all charges. After 2017, the case went on for long after an FIR was registered."
