Shimla gets respite from monkey menace amid national lockdown

Shimla (Himachal Pradesh), Apr 08(ANI): Monkeys in Shimla are shifting to rural and forest areas due to curfew and lockdown. The monkeys from towns including capital, Shimla now have started shifting to rural areas and few of them are also shifting to their natural habitat in the forests. The farmers and farming bodies are worried as the shifting of monkeys to the rural areas will result the farming crises as monkey menace has been a serious threat to the farmers in the state. Himachal Kisan Sabha Head, Kuldeep Singh Tanwar said that this is the right time to push the monkeys back to forests. He further said that monkeys in most of the rural and urban areas are already declared vermin but people are not coming forward to kill them due to religious sentiments.
