Student suicide sparks protest in Khalsa College

Amritsar (Punjab), Apr 28 (ANI): Hundreds of students staged a protest outside the Khalsa College in Punjab's Amritsar over a student who had committed suicide on Wednesday night.Harpreet Singh, a student of 8th semester of B.Sc in Agriculture Sciences was debarred from appearing in the practical exam by the college authorities because of attendance shortage. Reeling under stress over the college authorities' decision, he hanged himself from the ceiling fan in his hostel room. The protesting students demanded the arrest of the Principal and other department heads for the involvement in the case.
