Clever cockatoos knock crows off their perch

Vienna (Austria), Oct 28 (ANI): Research conducted by a team in Vienna indicates that the Goffin's cockatoo is smarter than crows as they demonstrate genuine creative thinking. Though crows have long been considered one of the most intelligent birds in the world, Goffin's cockatoo knocked the corvid off its perch. Vienna-based scientists tested a number of hand-raised Goffin's and observed that they could fashion tools to retrieve a food reward just like crows. While the debate still continues to discover the brainiest bird, both birds have clearly outwitted human children. Previous studies proved that human children couldn't reliably solve similar problems until they reached 8 years age.
