IPL 2021

The 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2021) will resume from September 19, 2021 in UAE after the maquee league was suspended due to outbreak of Covid-19 in the bio-secure bubble in May. BCCI has suspended the marquee event on May 3 after players from KKR squad tested positive. Thirty matches were played before IPL 2021 was cancelled.

Earlier, IPL 2021 began on April 9 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

The IPL 2021 afternoon games will start from 3:30 PM IST, while the evening games will start from 7:30 PM IST.

The IPL 2021 playoffs will be played between October 10-13 while the final will take place on October 15 at Dubai International Stadium. 

IPL 2021 players' auction

The mini-auction for IPL 2021 took place in Chennai on February 18.

South Africa all-rounder Chris Morris bagged the highest bid ever in the history of IPL auction when he was signed for a whopping Rs 16.25 crore. The 33-year-old, who had a base price of only Rs 75 lakh, went to the Rajasthan Royals.

Krishnappa Gowtham became the most expensive Indian buy at Rs 9.25 crore for the Chennai Super Kings.

Australian cricketers Jhye Richardson (Punjab Kings, Rs 14 crore), Glenn Maxwell (Royal Challengers Bangalore, Rs 14.25 crore) and Riley Meredith (Punjab Kings, Rs 8 crore) were some other expensive buys for the franchises in the IPL 2021 mini auction.

Besides, Sachin Tendulkar's son Arjun Tendulkar was bought by Mumbai Indians for his base price of Rs 20 lakh.
