Govt approves more than 150 armed CISF commandos for Ayodhya airport

The Centre has sanctioned a security cover of more than 150 CISF personnel for the Ayodhya airport, days before the high-profile consecration ceremony at the Ram temple on January 22, official sources have said. The "Maharishi Valmiki International Airport, Ayodhyadham" is the country's 68th civil airport terminal to come under the umbrella of the specialised Aviation Security Group (ASG) of the central force. The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) will provide an anti-terrorist and anti-sabotage cover to the airport that was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in December 2023, the sources said on Tuesday. The force will frisk passengers, check their baggage and secure the perimeter of the facility, they said. The Union home ministry has sanctioned a more than 150 personnel strong CISF anti-terrorist cover for the Ayodhya airport, days before the high-profile consecration ceremony at the Ram temple on January 22, official sources said on Tuesday. 500 influencers to undertake route tracing Lord Ram's return to Ayodhya

More than 500 social media influencers are set to undertake a month-long 4,500-km yatra tracing the route taken by Lord Ram to return to his kingdom in Ayodhya from Tamil Nadu's Rameshwaram after his exile. According to organisers of the Ramotsav Yatra, it will cover five states -- Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. Apurva Singh, who is part of the Ramotsav Yatra team, told PTI on Tuesday that the month-long yatra will start from Indore in Madhya Pradesh on January 14. "Over 500 influencers, Instagrammers, YouTubers, bloggers, sports and Bollywood celebrities will participate in the yatra," Malay Dixit, another key member of the organising team, told PTI. The event is being organised by the Ram Mahotsav Yatra Samiti formed by the All India Influencers Association, he said.
