As Eric Garcetti, the US Ambassador to India will be heading to Bengaluru on his first official trip, he asked Bengalureans for advice on the places he should see, the food he should eat and the experiences he should have here. Karnataka JDS leader H D Revanna granted bail in sexual assault case

A court on Monday granted bail to JD(S) MLA and former Karnataka Minister H D Revanna in a sexual assault case. The 42nd Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court had previously granted interim relief to the 66-year-old politician. Judge Preeth J refused to hear objections from SIT and ordered bail. The case, registered on April 28 at the Holenarasipura town police station, involves allegations of sexual assault by Revanna and his son, Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna, against a 47-year-old house help. Prajwal Revanna reportedly left for Germany on April 27 and an arrest warrant has also been issued against him in the sexual assault case. Interpol has issued a Blue Corner Notice against Prajwal, who is on the run. HD Revanna was arrested on May 4 and was remanded into four-day police custody. He was later sent into judicial custody. Towards the end of his judicial custody, he secured conditional bail from a special court for MPs and MLAs.

JD(S) MLA HD Revanna granted bail in kidnap case by Bengaluru court

A Special Court for Elected Representatives on Monday granted bail to JD(S) MLA H D Revanna in connection with a kidnap case. The 66-year-old former Minister was arrested by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) in an alleged case of abduction of a woman, linked to the allegations of sexual abuse of women by his son and Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna, on May 4. The special court judge Santhosh Gajanan Bhat heard the matter and granted conditional bail to Revanna. His three-day police custody ended on May 8, following which he was produced in the XVII Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court, which remanded him to seven days' judicial custody, till May 14. The case was registered following a complaint by the woman's son, who alleged that his mother was sexually abused by Revanna's son Prajwal. IndiGo announces tri-weekly flights between Bengaluru, Deoghar from Jun 1

Low-cost carrier IndiGo has announced direct flights between Jharkhand's Deoghar and Bengaluru three times a week from June 1, a company statement said. The direct flights will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. On these days, flight number 6E 6435 will take off from Bengaluru at 10.05 am and reach Deoghar at 12.25 pm. The return flight, 6E 6437, will leave Deoghar at 12.55 pm and land in Bengaluru at 3.25 pm, it said. The new route will enhance connectivity from the southern part of India to the famous religious hubs in Jharkhand, the airline said in a statement on Friday. With these new flights, Bengaluru will be airline's fifth destination be directly connected with Deoghar, after Kolkata, Patna, Ranchi, and Delhi, it said.
