Boeing says India is key nation for its sustainable aerospace programme

American plane maker Boeing on Sunday said India is a priority country for its ambitious programme to decarbonise aerospace globally from both the civilian and military aircraft and to chart a path toward a sustainable future. Brian, Boeing's Vice President for Global Sustainability Policy and Partnerships, said the company is confident of delivering commercial airplanes capable of flying on 100 per cent Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) by 2030. "India is hugely important to Boeing and to our aviation business, but also to our sustainability journey. I think some of the commitments and potential that we see here in India to become self-reliant through the scaling of sustainable aviation fuel is really promising," he told PTI. In a significant global announcement, Boeing said last year that its commercial airplanes will be capable and certified to fly on 100 per cent sustainable aviation fuels by 2030. Air India Express to lease 2 Boeing 737 airplanes from Vistara: Report

Budget airline Air India Express is looking to lease two Boeing 737 aircraft from full-service carrier Vistara to offer more flights during the winter schedule, according to a source. Both Air India Express and Vistara are part of the Tata group, which also has Air India and AirAsia India under its wings. The source close to the development said the two narrow-body planes are expected to be inducted into the Air India Express fleet on a short-term lease in November and December, respectively. The move is part of consolidating as well as tapping the synergies in the group's airline business. Also, the leasing of the planes will help Air India Express to operate more flights during the winter schedule, which starts from October 30, the source said. When contacted, a Vistara spokesperson said, "we cannot comment on speculations". Air India Express spokesperson was not available for comments. "Air India Express has not inducted any new planes in its fleet for a long time. Though the

Boeing will find new buyers for Max jets ordered by Chinese airlines

Boeing officials said Thursday they will find new buyers for Boeing 737 Max jets that were built for Chinese airlines but can't be delivered because China's aviation regulator has not cleared the plane to fly after two deadly crashes. Boeing hopes the move will reduce its inventory of undelivered Max jets, which built up while the planes were grounded around the world. However, the decision risks adding to tension between the aircraft manufacturer and China, which was once Boeing's biggest market for the Max. Arlington, Va.-based Boeing had 290 undelivered 737s in inventory as of June 30, with about half of them earmarked for China, company officials said. Boeing's hopes were raised last December, when China's aviation regulator took a major step toward letting airlines resume using the Max. In February, Chinese airlines ran flight tests. But the Civil Aviation Administration of China has not taken the final steps to allow Max flights and deliveries to resume, which Boeing official

Air India to get 30 planes including 5 Boeings, over next 15 months

Air India on Monday said it will progressively induct 30 new aircraft, including 5 wide-body Boeing planes, from December this year, as the Tatas-owned airline looks to boost its domestic and international services. The airline has signed leases and letters of intent for inducting 5 wide-body Boeing and 25 Airbus narrow-body planes over the next 15 months. "These new aircraft, which will enter service from late 2022, will increase the airline's fleet by over 25 per cent. Not counting the 10 long-grounded narrow-body and 6 wide-body aircraft that have been returned to service in recent months, these new aircraft mark the first major fleet expansion since Air India's acquisition by the Tata Group earlier this year," it said in a release. The planes being leased include 21 Airbus A320 neos, 4 Airbus A321 neos and 5 Boeing B777-200LRs. The B777-200LRs will join the fleet between December 2022 and March 2023. They will be deployed on routes from Indian metro cities to the US. "Mumbai w
