Delhi govt invites bids for ₹31.5L maintenance at Dilli Haat, INA

Tender awarded for South Coast Railway HQ in Vizag: Vaishnaw tells RS

The construction work of the South Coast Railway Zone headquarters has been sanctioned at an estimated cost of Rs 183.58 crore and the tender has been awarded, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said in a written statement in the Rajya Sabha on Friday. EMS Ltd wins Rs 203 cr water and sewerage projects in Uttar Pradesh

Water and sewerage infra player EMS on Monday said it has emerged as the lowest bidder (L1) in two projects worth Rs 202.85 crore floated by the UP Jal Nigam (Urban). As of March 31, 2025, the Ghaziabad-based multi-disciplinary EPC company's total order book was at Rs 2,236.43 crore. In a release, EMS said it has emerged as L1 for a Rs 104.05 crore project under the Agra Water Supply Reorganisation Scheme (Trans Yamuna Zone I&II). As part of the project, the company will undertake surveying, soil investigation, engineering, design and supply of all materials, labour, T&P required for construction, completion, testing and commissioning of an intake well-cum-pump house and approach bridge and a water treatment plant in Agra. DPIIT proposes hiring agency to vet govt tenders for norms compliance

The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) has proposed to appoint a consulting agency to scrutinise tenders of central government procuring entities for compliance with public procurement norms. The department has floated a request-for-proposal (RFP) in this regard. The Government of India has issued Public Procurement (Preference to Make in India) Order, 2017. It has been issued to promote locally manufactured items in public procurement thereby increasing domestic production of goods and services. The policy aims at incentivizing procurement linked through local content requirements, thereby encouraging domestic manufacturer's participation in public procurement activities over entities merely importing to trade or assemble items. A penalty up to 10 per cent of the contract value can be imposed in case the contractor/ supplier does not meet the stipulated local content requirement. DPIIT flags 259 tenders for violating public procurement norms in 2024

The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) identified 259 tenders as non-compliant with the public procurement norms in 2024, Parliament was informed on Friday. Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Jitin Prasada in a written reply to the Rajya Sabha said it has been observed that procuring entities are not stipulating the applicability of the Public Procurement (Preference to Make in India) Order in tenders, which is the most significant factor contributing to non-compliance. "In 2024, DPIIT scrutinised 867 tenders, on a random basis, of these 259 tenders were found to be non-compliant with the provisions of Public Procurement (Preference to Make in India) Order, 2017," he said. The reasons for non-compliance of these tenders include mention of specific brands, incorporation of excessive turnover criteria, global tender enquiry floated without prior approval of the competent authority, not following nodal ministry's notification and mandatory ...

Tenders floated to procure e-buses under Central scheme: Hardeep Puri

The government has floated tenders for procuring electric buses under the PM-eBus Sewa scheme, Union Housing and Urban Affairs Ministry Hardeep Singh Puri said on Friday. Under the scheme, 10,000 electric buses will be provided to 169 cities under the public-private partnership model. Addressing a press conference, Puri said his ministry's officials were in touch with bus manufacturers. "Tenders have been floated to procure buses. The bidding will be completed by the end of January." According to the plan, people travelling in these buses can buy tickets through an automatic fare system while the operators will be paid based on the travel distance. The scheme, which will continue till 2037, will have an outlay of Rs 57,613 crore, of which Rs 20,000 crore will be provided by the Central government and the remaining will be borne by the states.
