EV financing platform Revfin Services raises $5 million from US FDC

EV financing platform Revfin Services on Friday said it has secured USD 5 million funding from the United States International Development Finance Corporation (DFC). The investment is part of DFC's portfolio for impact and innovation and seeks to promote inclusive financing for EV adoption in India, Revfin said in a release. The freshly infused capital will be deployed for new products and in expanding company's footprint, it stated. Revfin said it plans to finance two million electric vehicles in the next five years. According to the company, it has already invested in over 21,800 electric three-wheelers and funds from DFC will further bolster its growth plans, which include new products by diversifying into two-wheelers for last-mile deliveries, four-wheelers for mid-mile cargo delivery, and ride-share taxis. Toyota to build $50 mn lab to test electric, hybrid vehicles batteries

Toyota says it will spend nearly USD 50 million to build a vehicle battery testing laboratory at its North American research centre in Michigan. The company said Thursday that the lab in York Township south of Ann Arbor will test batteries made for hybrid and electric vehicles at a new factory in North Carolina, as well as from battery suppliers. No new jobs will be created because Toyota will reassign workers from other areas and provide training as needed. The company says the lab is expected to begin work in 2025 and could be expanded as more electric vehicles are made. The lab will do performance, quality and durability testing, as well as testing of charging capabilities. This new facility also enables us to experiment and pursue new opportunities as technology and business needs advance, Jordan Choby, group vice president of powertrain, said in a statement. Uber join hands with EV partners to encourage sustainable mobility

Ride-hailing app Uber on Wednesday announced partnerships with various electric vehicle makers and other entities in India to accelerate the transition of its partners towards sustainable mobility. The company said it has expanded its partnership with EV fleet partners Lithium Urban Technologies, Everest Fleet Pvt Ltd and Moove in order to deploy 25,000 electric cars in India on the Uber platform over the next two years. Besides, Uber said it has teamed up with Zypp Electric for 10,000 EV two-wheelers in Delhi by 2024. The company also announced a partnership with SIDBI to unlock Rs 1,000 crore in EV financing. JBM Auto launches first self-designed electric luxury coach 'Galaxy'

JBM Auto on Wednesday launched its first self-designed and self-manufactured electric luxury coach 'Galaxy' here at Auto Expo 2023. The company, a part of USD 2.2 billion JBM group, also showcased its new series of e-buses, including city bus, staff bus and school bus. Expanding the company's offering in the emerging electric vehicle segment, JBM Auto Vice Chairman Nishant Arya said it will grow "exponentially" over the next few years. "The new range of electric buses will address the growing market requirements, especially the fleet owners, who are looking for sustainable, safe, reliable and profitable solutions," said Arya. However, the company did not disclose the price of the coach. Currently, 1,000 JBM electric buses are plying in 12 states.
