Delhi government has given a go-ahead to the registration of BS-VI compliant diesel vehicles, provided they are being utilised for services related to the G20 Summit, an official order said on Friday. In March, the apex court permitted the registration of BS-VI light and heavy diesel vehicles that are used for essential public services and public utility services. Citing the judgement, the transport department in an order issued earlier this week, said, "... the competent authority is pleased to allow the registration of the said BS VI compliant Diesel Vehicles, subject to submission of a proof of requisition by appropriate authorities such as Ministry of External Affairs or Embassies or Ministries or any other authority regarding the engagement of such vehicles for the purposes subservient to G20 Summit." Union Minister of state for Tourism Shripad Naik on Friday conducted a comprehensive review of the preparations for the fourth G20 Tourism Working Group meeting and Tourism Ministerial meeting in Goa. India will host a three-day meeting of development ministers of the G20 member nations in Varanasi beginning Sunday that is expected to focus on disruptions in global supply chains, food and energy security challenges and impacts of climate change among other issues. The third HWG meeting will have a main event and also a side event, with a focus on collaboration on R&D in Medical Counter Measures (MCMs). Co-branded events with the Global Vaccine Research Collaborative and a Joint Finance Health Task Force meeting are also on the cards, Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare's Additional Secretary Lav Agarwal said at a press conference here.
