In search for engineers: Microsoft, Oracle, Google step up hiring in India

Global firms such as Microsoft, LinkedIn, Oracle, Facebook and Google are increasing their workforce in India in emerging areas such as digital, cloud and analytics, triggering a talent war with Indian services providers. These firms are also looking at engineers in India to work on technologies similar to their global counterparts as they struggle to find people to scale in their home markets. The move for these firms, majority US-based companies comes at a time when there is growing protectionism for talent in markets such as the US and Australia, in favour of local hires. This has pushed Indian IT service providers such as Infosys, TCS and Wipro to commit hiring local resources in the US to get more contracts from American clients.
