Never talks about issues, spreads conspiracy: Cong hits back at PM Modi

The Congress on Friday hit back at Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his "no foreign attempt to stoke fire" before Parliament session remark, saying he tries to divert the attention of the country by putting forward conspiracy theory before the session begins. Speaking with reporters ahead of the Budget Session, Modi said it is perhaps the first time since 2014 that no attempt has been made from abroad to "stoke a fire" in India before the start of a Parliament session. In a post in Hindi in X, Kharge said, "Prime Minister Modi tries to divert the attention of the country by putting forward conspiracy theories before the Parliament session begins. Things which are not in the President's address, on which the government has no official statement. Despite this, Modi ji talks like this in the press briefing. This is wrong." Political speech, no acknowledgment of issues: Cong on prez's address

The Congress on Friday described President Droupadi Murmu's address to both Houses of Parliament as a "clear-cut political speech" and claimed that it had no acknowledgment of what an ordinary citizen was experiencing day after day. In her address, Murmu said the government had worked with a strong determination to lift the economy out of a state of "policy paralysis" despite global concerns such as the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic and war-related uncertainties. Addressing a joint sitting of Parliament, signalling the start of the Budget Session, the president said the BJP-led government's third term was seeing work being done at thrice the speed of previous administrations, citing decisions on issues such as Waqf boards and 'one nation, one election'. Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge said it was very sad that the Narendra Modi government was making the president read the BJP's pamphlet. "In this 10-year laundry list, the Modi government has exaggerated even the smallest

Kharge insulted sentiments of Hindus with remarks on Maha Kumbh: BJP

Maharashtra BJP chief Chandrashekhar Bawankule on Tuesday claimed Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge has insulted the sentiments of Hindus with his "insensitive" remarks on the saffron party leaders taking holy dip at the Sangam in Prayagraj. The Congress has consistently disrespected the Hindu beliefs and traditions and "appeased" a particular community, the state revenue minister alleged in a post on X. Kharge on Monday claimed BJP leaders were competing with each other to take a dip at the Sangam for the cameras, and asked if their act would help eradicate poverty in the country. "If any one was hurt, I seek an apology," the Congress chief said in the same vein while addressing the 'Jai Bapu, Jai Bhim, Jai Samvidhan' rally at the Mhow town of Madhya Pradesh. Kharge's remarks came on a day when Union Home Minister Amit Shah took a holy dip at the Sangam during the ongoing Maha Kumbh. Bawankule in his post termed Kharge's comments as "insensitive and offensive". "By mocking a

BJP leaders 'dwellers of hell' who did nothing for independence: Kharge

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on Sunday called the BJP leaders as the "dwellers of hell" who did nothing for the independence or to uplift the economy and the society. In a scathing attack on the Centre, especially Union Home Minister Amit Shah for his alleged insulting remarks on the architect of Indian constitution B R Ambedkar in the Rajya Sabha recently, Kharge said the BJP government was dumping all the constitutional values. Addressing Congress workers after unfurling the Indian tricolour at the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee office, Kharge said Congress made India as an independent country and is striving for its unity. "But the painful matter is that recently our important leaders, especially the Union Home Minister Amit Shah, insulted the Constitution. Amit Shah passed nasty comments on the architect of the Indian constitution," the Octogenarian leader said. Recalling Shah's statement, Kharge said, "I was in the parliament. In the Rajya Sabha he (Shah) said,

Every sacred tenet of Constitution being shredded into pieces: Kharge

In a scathing attack on the BJP-led Centre, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge alleged on Sunday that a hateful agenda, immersed in religious fundamentalism, has sought to divide the society over the last 10 years and every sacred tenet of the Constitution is being "shredded into pieces by an authoritarian regime". He claimed that the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) practises pseudo-nationalism by making disadvantaged youngsters carry the flag of "nationalism" and "religious supremacy", but does nothing to get them employment. In his message to the nation on the 76th Republic Day, Kharge said it is high time that people preserved and protected the ideas and ideals of the Constitution -- justice, liberty, equality and fraternity. "We uphold the values espoused by our founders. Be ready to make every sacrifice to protect the Constitution. This will be the true tribute to our ancestors," Kharge said. Why did BJP adopt 'save criminals' policy instead of 'save daughters': Cong

As the government's 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao' initiative completed 10 years, the Congress on Wednesday accused the BJP of hypocrisy and asked why did the ruling party adopt a policy of 'save the criminals' instead of "save the daughters'. 'Beti Bachao Beti Padhao' (BBBP) was launched by the prime minister on January 22, 2015 at Panipat, Haryana. BBBP addresses the declining Child Sex Ratio (CSR) and related issues of women empowerment over a life-cycle continuum. In a post in Hindi on X, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge said, "Ten years of Beti Bachao, our three questions to Modi ji Why did the BJP adopt the policy of 'save the criminals' instead of 'save the daughters'? When will the women of Manipur get justice? Whether it is the Dalit daughter of Hathras or the daughter of Unnao, or our champion female wrestler, why has the BJP always protected criminals?" Why are 43 crimes against women recorded every hour in the country, Kharge asked. "Every day 22 crimes are registered
