Mcap of 6 top valued firms soars by Rs 1.18 trn, TCS biggest winner

The combined market valuation of six of the top-10 valued firms soared by Rs 1,18,626.24 crore last week, with Tata Consultancy Services stealing the show with maximum gains. Last week, the BSE benchmark gauge climbed 659.33 points or 0.83 per cent, and the NSE Nifty went up by 187.7 points or 0.78 per cent. Reliance Industries Ltd, HDFC Bank, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), State Bank of India, Infosys and ITC were the winners, while Bharti Airtel, ICICI Bank, Bajaj Finance and Hindustan Unilever took a hit in their valuation. The market valuation of TCS surged by Rs 53,692.42 crore to Rs 12,47,281.40 crore, the most among the top 10 firms. Reliance Industries added Rs 34,507.55 crore taking its valuation to Rs 17,59,276.14 crore. The market valuation of Infosys jumped Rs 24,919.58 crore to Rs 6,14,766.06 crore and that of HDFC Bank rallied by Rs 2,907.85 crore to Rs 14,61,842.17 crore. State Bank of India's market capitalisation (mcap) climbed Rs 1,472.57 crore to Rs 7,12,854.

The combined market valuation of seven of the top 10 most valued companies surged by Rs 2,10,254.96 crore last week, with Reliance Industries and Tata Consultancy Services emerging as the biggest gainers. Last week, the BSE Sensex climbed 1,134.48 points or 1.55 per cent, and the NSE Nifty rose 427.8 points or 1.93 per cent. The market capitalisation (mcap) of Reliance Industries surged by Rs 66,985.25 crore to Rs 16,90,328.70 crore. Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) market valuation climbed by Rs 46,094.44 crore to Rs 13,06,599.95 crore. With this sharp rise in its market valuation, TCS again rose to the second rank in the top-10 most-valued firms chart. The combined market valuation of eight of the top-10 most valued firms eroded by Rs 3,09,244.57 crore in a holiday-shortened last week, with Tata Consultancy Services taking the biggest hit, in line with bearish trend in equities. Last week, the BSE benchmark gauge Sensex tanked 2,112.96 points or 2.80 per cent, and the NSE Nifty tumbled 671.2 points or 2.94 per cent. In February alone, the Nifty dropped 1,383.7 points or 5.88 per cent. The Sensex lost 4,302.47 points or 5.55 per cent. The combined market valuation of eight of the top-10 most valued firms eroded Rs 1,65,784.9 crore last week, with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) taking the biggest hit, in line with bearish trends in equities. Last week, the BSE benchmark declined 628.15 points, or 0.82 per cent, while the Nifty went lower 133.35 points, or 0.58 per cent. The market valuation of TCS tanked Rs 53,185.89 crore to Rs 13,69,717.48 crore. Bharti Airtel's market capitalisation (mcap) dropped Rs 44,407.77 crore to Rs 9,34,223.77 crore. The combined market valuation of eight of the 10 most valued domestic firms eroded by Rs 2 lakh crore last week, with Reliance Industries taking the biggest hit in line with a bearish trend in the broader stock market. Equity benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty extended their downward trend to the eighth day in a row on Friday. In the past eight trading days, the BSE benchmark has tumbled 2,644.6 points or 3.36 per cent, and the Nifty slumped 810 points or 3.41 per cent. Last week, the BSE benchmark climbed 354.23 points, or 0.45 per cent, and the Nifty went up 77.8 points, or 0.33 per cent.
