Odisha CM Majhi asks officers for timely completion of irrigation projects

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Monday directed the officers of the Water Resources department for timely completion of the ongoing irrigation projects. Holding a meeting with the top officers of the department, the chief minister also directed them to manage water efficiently during the delayed monsoon period. He advised the officials to be in a state of preparedness for managing possible flood situation during the ensuing monsoon, the Chief Minister's Office (CMO) said in a statement. Stressing that the improvement of the status of the farmers of the state is a top priority of his government, Majhi said that the Water Resources department has a key role to play in making water available to farmers, it said. Odisha Cabinet approves 18 proposals including new rural housing scheme

The Odisha government Monday approved 18 important proposals, including the plan to launch a new Mo Ghara' housing scheme in rural areas of the state, a top official said. The Mo Ghara' scheme will provide financial assistance to meet the aspiration of the lower and lower-middle-income households of rural Odisha, Chief Secretary P K Jena told reporters after a Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik here. The ruling BJD, which completed four years of its fifth term in office, had promised to convert all kutcha' houses into pucca' ones in this term. The chief secretary said the financial implication of the Mo Ghara' scheme for approximately 4 lakh beneficiaries is expected to be Rs 2,150 crore over a period of two years. Odisha govt approves 7 policies to attract investment and boost economy

Ahead of the Make In Odisha Conclave, the Naveen Patnaik government has approved at least seven different policies to attract investment in the state and boost the economy. The decision regarding the State Cabinet approving seven policies and other decisions was announced by Revenue and Disaster management minister Pramila Mallick in the Assembly on Wednesday. The Cabinet at its 52nd meeting on Tuesday approved 17 proposals including seven policies. The policies which have been approved were: Registered Vehicle Scrapping Facility Policy-2022, Industrial Policy Resolution (IPR) 2022, Odisha Logistics Policy 2022, Odisha Apparel and Technical Textiles Policy-2022, Export Promotion Policy 2022, Odisha Civil Aviation Policy 2022 and Odisha Tourism Policy 2022.
