Telangana CM KCR to distribute Podu land documents to beneficiaries today

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Friday will distribute Podu land (shift cultivation) documents to beneficiaries in Asifabad and also address a public meeting there, official sources said. Chandrasekhar Rao, also known as KCR, will reach the Komuram Bheem Asifabad district headquarters at 1 PM and unveil the statue of Gond martyr and Telangana fighter Komuram Bheem. After paying floral tributes to the statue, he will inaugurate District BRS Party office building and unveil a statue of Kotnak Bheem Rao and pay floral tributes The Chief Minister will inaugurate the District Police Office building complex and also Integrated District Offices complex and address employees. He will return to Hyderabad after addressing a public meeting. Rao had earlier said the state government will distribute four lakh acres of 'Podu' land titles to 1.5 lakh beneficiaries.

The people of Telangana are yearning for change and looking towards the Congress, party president Mallikarjun Kharge said on Tuesday after chairing a meeting of Telangana unit leaders to decide the strategy for the state polls due later this year. Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao's visit to Maharashtra's pilgrimage town of Pandharpur on Tuesday drew a sharp reaction from Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut, who called the former's Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) a B-team of the BJP. Lulu Group to invest Rs 10,000 cr in India to complete ongoing projects

Former Telangana minister, ex-MP among 35 BRS leaders set to join Congress

As many as 35 BRS leaders, including former MP Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy and ex-minister Telangana government Jupally Krishna Rao, announced their intention to join the Congress and met the party's top leadership here on Monday, sources said. The Bharat Rashtra Samithi leaders will formally join the Congress at a public rally in Khammam, Telangana expected to be held in the first week of July with the likely presence of AICC general secretary Priyanka Gandhi. Reddy was a BRS MP from Khammam in the previous Lok Sabha polls. The development comes ahead of Assembly elections in the state later this year. Telangana CM Chandrasekhar Rao leaves for visit to Solapur in Maharashtra

Ruling BRS president and Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Monday left for a visit to Solapur in Maharashtra. Rao, who was travelling by road in a massive convoy of about 600 vehicles, was accompanied by state ministers, MPs, MLCs, MLAs and party senior leaders, an official release said. During his two-day visit to Maharashtra, Rao would reportedly offer prayers at Lord Vitthal temple at Pandharpur town near Solapur and at Goddess Tulja Bhavani temple at Osmanabad and also attend an event where a popular leader from NCP would join the BRS. After renaming the TRS as BRS in December last year, Rao, also known as KCR, has been making efforts to strengthen the party in neighbouring Maharashtra. He has addressed public meetings at Nanded and other places in Maharashtra, highlighting his 'Telangana model' of development. Several activists and leaders from NCP and other parties in Maharashtra joined the BRS during the last six months.

Telangana CM on 2-day Maharashtra tour from June 26, to visit temple towns

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao will visit Pandharpur and Tuljapur temple towns during his two-day visit to Maharashtra starting from Monday, a functionary of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) said. The BRS has been trying to make inroads into Maharashtra ahead of the state Assembly polls due next year. BJP president J P Nadda is scheduled to address a public meeting at Nagarkurnool in Telangana on Sunday to highlight the work and achievements of the NDA government at the Centre. An Election Commission (EC) team held meeting with Telangana Chief Secretary here on Saturday as part of the preparations for the Legislative Assembly polls to be held later this year. Telangana CM to launch 'podu' land pattas distribution on June 30

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao will launch the distribution of 'podu' (shifting cultivation) land pattas for tribals on June 30. While Rao would kick off the distribution at the district headquarters town of Asifabad, state ministers and MLAs would distribute pattas to the beneficiaries in their respective assembly constituencies and districts. During his visit, KCR would inaugurate the newly-constructed Kumuram Bheem Asifabad District Integrated Collectorate Complex and district Superintendent of Police office on June 30, an official release said on Saturday. The state government had earlier announced the pattas distribution programme from June 24. However, it had to be postponed to June 30 due to unavoidable reasons, it said. The government has decided to take up the pattas distribution from June 30 in view of the visit of a team of Election Commission to the state on June 23 and 24 and the Bakrid festival on June 29, the release added.
