Appellate tribunal NCLAT has rejected a plea against Voltas, which sought to initiate insolvency proceedings against the Tata Group firm by one of its operational creditors.
A two-member NCLAT bench has upheld the earlier orders of the Mumbai-bench of the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT), which had on May 27, 2025 rejected the petition on the grounds of a pre-existing dispute.
NCLAT upheld the findings of NCLT, saying it "has committed no mistake" in finding that the email chain between appellant Air Wave Technocrafts and Voltas "reflects ongoing disputes" regarding work certification, amounts, and supporting documentation.
"We see no reason to take a different view in the matter from that of the Adjudicating Authority (NCLT) in rejecting the Section 9 application on valid grounds of pre-existing disputes. In result, we find no merit in the Appeal. We find no reasons to interfere with the impugned order. The Appeal is dismissed," said NCLAT.

Mahindra & Mahindra plans to stick to its strategy of offering premium and differentiated vehicles, comprising internal combustion engine-powered SUVs and electric vehicles, in order to further strengthen its presence in the domestic passenger vehicle segment, according to a top company executive.
The Mumbai-based auto major has no immediate plans to introduce CNG and other alternate fuel technologies in its product range as it wants to stick to its core brand identity and cater to a customer base which seeks differentiated products.
"Our focus has been ICE and electric, and we are fairly growing in these areas. In our personal vehicle portfolio, the customers want to have differentiated products; they do not want to be in the mass market," Mahindra & Mahindra President - Automotive Business R Velusamy told PTI in an interaction.
He noted that the company remains firmly focussed on the SUV segments with plans to drive in multiple models over the next four years.

The Sikkim government has ordered all tourist accommodation providers in the Himalayan state to contribute to the Tourism Sustainable Development (TSD) fund, an official said.
The Tourism and Civil Aviation department of the state government, in an order, directed all tourist accommodation providershotels, resorts, homestays, bed and breakfast establishments, and service apartmentsto contribute Rs 50 per tourist to the TSD fund or face punitive action, the official said.
Accommodation providers collect Rs 50 fee from each tourist during check-in and remit it to the government, which monitors the payment through the Atithi Guest Information System.

Healthcare industry body NATHEALTH has asked the government to increase public spending on healthcare to over 2.5 per cent of GDP with urgent action to tackle non-communicable diseases, including tax deductions of up to Rs 10,000 on individuals for preventive health check-ups.

The recommendations call for a balanced mix of fiscal support, structural reforms, and public-private collaboration to build a robust, future-ready health system, it said in a statement.
