Chamoli (Uttarakhand), Apr 25 (ANI): Indian Army personnel are carrying out rescue operation at the site of avalanche in Sumna area of Joshimath Sector in Chamoli district. So far, 384 people have been found safe, 11 bodies have been recovered so far.

New Delhi, Apr 25 (ANI): Medanta's Dr Naresh Trehan said that 90% of patients can be recovered at home if given proper medicines on time. He also urged people, who test positive, to get in touch with local doctors as all doctors know COVID protocol. "As soon as your RT-PCR report comes positive, my advice would be to consult your local doctor with whom you're in touch. All doctors know protocol and will begin your treatment accordingly," said Dr. Naresh Tehran.
New Delhi, Apr 25 (ANI): Amid the shortage of anti-viral drug Remdesivir in the country in wake of devastating COVID-19 situation, AIIMS (All India Institute of Medical Sciences) Director Randeep Guleria said Remdesivir is not a "magic bullet", and the anti-viral drug is given to only those patients who are hospitalised. "Remdesivir not a magic bullet, it's given to only patients who are hospitalised, have moderate to severe disease and whose oxygen saturation is below 93...Don't misuse Oxygen and Remdesivir. Most patients can recover by isolating at home," Guleria said during conference with three other India's top doctors who addressed issues related to COVID-19 situation.

Palghar (Maharashtra), Apr 23 (ANI): In an unfortunate incident, 13 people died after fire broke out at a COVID centre in Vasai of Palghar. The affected patients are being shifted to nearby hospitals. Official of Vijay Vallabh COVID Care Hospital, Dr Dilip Shah said, "3 people have died after a fire broke out in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) around 3am today. 21 patients including those in critical condition have been shifted to another hospital." Panaji (Goa), Apr 23 (ANI): Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant informed that the state government is not in favour of imposing lockdown. Our financial activity must keep going, this is how we manage COVID. Therefore, we do not want to impose lockdown," said CM Pramod Sawant. Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren took another step in the same direction and announced free vaccination to all above the age of 18-years. Currently there are 40,942 active cases in the state. On April 22, the state reported 7,595 new COVID infections and 106 deaths. The death toll of Jharkhand mounted to 1,715.

Ro-Ro express train carrying liquid oxygen moved out from the RINL Vizag steel plant and will be taken over by Indian Railways.
