Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), Jan 16 (ANI): After former IPS officer, Asim Arun joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on January 16, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav criticised his entry and said that he would complain to the Election Commission to remove all officials who worked with IPS-Officer-turned BJP leader. “I will complain to the Election Commission to remove all officials who joined BJP with Asim Arun. Questions will arise on the EC if it doesn't probe the matter; we won't believe the EC is working fairly,” said Akhilesh Yadav.

Panaji (Goa), Jan 16 (ANI): Ahead of the Goa Assembly Elections, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Arvind Kejriwal, Arvind Kejriwal promised Rs 1000 to every woman above 18 years of age if his party is voted to power in Goa. “Mohalla clinics and hospitals will be opened in every village and district of Goa, for better and free healthcare. Farming issues will be solved after discussing with the farmer community. The trading system will be streamlined and simplified,” the AAP convenor said. “We will provide Rs 1000 to every woman above 18 years of age. The tourism sector will be developed as per international standards. Goa will have 24/7 free electricity and water. Roads will be improved and free education will be given in all government schools,” he further added.

Goa Polls: Unemployed youth to get Rs 3000 per month if AAP voted to power, assures Kejriwal

Panaji (Goa), Jan 16 (ANI): Ahead of the Goa Assembly Elections, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convenor, Arvind Kejriwal on January 16 assured that the unemployed youth will get Rs 3000 per month if the party is voted to power. “Goa public is looking forward to the upcoming elections on Feb 14. AAP is fresh hope. They didn't have any choice except BJP/Congress earlier, they want a change and are frustrated,” the AAP Convenor said. “AAP has developed a 13-point agenda for the Goa public. Employment will be provided to youth, those who do not get an employment will get aid of Rs 3000 per month. Mining has huge vested interest, we will provide land rights in 6 months of coming into power,” he further added. Goa Assembly Election will be held on February 14.

Delhi reports 20,718 new COVID-19 cases, 30 deaths

New Delhi, Jan 15 (ANI): Due to a decline in the number of samples tested, Delhi witnessed a decline in its daily COVID-19 cases, reporting 20,718 COVID-19 cases during the last 24 hours, said the state government on January 15. As per the bulletin provided by the health department, the positivity rate for the day mounted to 30.64 per cent. A total of 67,624 samples were tested during the last 24 hours, 19,554 people recovered from the infection, taking the total recoveries to 15,72,942. 30 people lost their lives to the deadly virus during the last 24 hours. The death toll in Delhi due to the virus currently stands at 25,335.

UP Polls: BJP releases first list of candidates, Yogi Adityanath to contest from Gorakhpur

New Delhi, Jan 15 (ANI): The BJP on January 15 announced its first list of candidates for the upcoming Uttar Pradesh Assembly election. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will contest the polls from Gorakhpur and Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya will contest UP Polls from Sirathu in Prayagraj. Addressing a press conference, BJP Uttar Pradesh poll in-charge Dharmendra Pradhan said, “We are releasing the list of candidates on 48/55 seats in the second phase and 57/58 seats in first phase,” the Union Minister said. “CM Yogi Adityanath to contest UP Polls from Gorakhpur.
