Mayawati will not contest UP Assembly Polls: Satish Chandra Misra

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), Jan 11 (ANI): Ahead of Uttar Pradesh Assembly Polls, BSP General Secretary Satish Chandra Misra on January 11 clarified that party's supremo Mayawati will not contest Assembly Polls. "Former Chief Minister Mayawati and I will not contest the assembly elections. Neither Samajwadi Party nor BJP will come to power, BSP is going to form the government in Uttar Pradesh," Misra added. The Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls will be held from February 10 to March 07.

UP Polls: CM Yogi, other leaders arrive at BJP Headquarters for Core Committee Meeting

New Delhi, Jan 11 (ANI): Ahead of Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath arrived at Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Headquarters in Delhi for Core Committee Meeting. State Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya along with other leaders also arrived to attend the meeting. The meeting is to discuss the poll strategy and to deliberate the names of probable candidates for the Assembly polls. The Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls will be held from February 10 to March 07.

UP Polls: Akhilesh Yadav knows he'll lose, finding new excuses every day, says Sidharth Nath Singh

Prayagraj (UP), Jan 10 (ANI): Ahead of Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, MSME Minister and Spokesperson Sidharth Nath Singh on January 09, took a dig on Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav and said that he knows that he'll lose, and is therefore looking for new excuses every day. Talking to ANI, Singh said, "Akhilesh Yadav knows very well that he is going to lose the Assembly elections so he is finding new excuses every day. Yesterday he accused the Election Commission, saying digital elections are unfair. Today, he wrote to the EC demanding suspension of government officers." Uttar Pradesh will go to the assembly polls in 7 phases from February 10 to March 7. The poll panel said the counting of votes will take place on March 10.

Police admin must work without bias. The people of Uttar Pradesh should vote for development. Our party will follow all guidelines of EC. I will chair a meeting today regarding the final selection of candidates. Fear of the Election Commission is necessary for the government machinery. EC must ensure free and fair elections. BJP will lose this election if they will not misuse government machinery and not manipulate the voting machines,” Mayawati added.

CEC announces Assembly elections in five states with COVID safety norms

New Delhi, Jan 08 (ANI): While addressing a Press Conference ahead of Assemble election in five states in India including Goa, Punjab, Manipur, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh, Chief Election Commissioner of India Sushil Chandra on January 08 said that ECI decided to announce polls with safety norms in place. “As COVID cases soared in view of Omicron variant, ECI held meetings with Union Health Secretary and Home Secretary, experts, and health secretaries of States. After taking these views and ground situation, ECI decided to announce polls with safety norms in place,” he said.
