The court on Thursday granted anticipatory bail to the Chidambarams in the corruption case filed by CBI as well as in the money laundering matter lodged by the ED in relation to the Aircel-Maxis deal
The apex court said that if Chidambaram's request for interim bail is not considered by the trial court Monday itself, the CBI's custody of Chidambaram will be extended for three more days

Officials said this is a preventive measure exercised by the agency as Chidambaram's whereabouts are not known at present and he is required by them to take the probe forward in the INX Media case

The bench said another bench headed by Justice Arun Mishra, which is already seized of a similar case, would hear the present matters

He also called for re-examining audit reports on Rajya Sabha TV expenses and defence and telecom audits
