Hyderabad-based Nagarjuna Fertilizers & Chemicals has posted a three fold rise in its net profit for the quarter ended 30 June at Rs 23.09 crore compared with Rs 7.04 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. The company's net sales during the period slipped to Rs 329.02 crore from Rs 433.55 crore, down 24.12 per cent.

The earning per share stood at Rs 0.54 against last year's Rs 0.16.

On the Bombay Stock Exchange, the company's shares closed on Thursday at Rs 34.65, up 4.37 per cent.
