The country's largest producer of caustic soda Gujarat Alkalies & Chemicals moved up 2.54 to Rs 143.55 on reports of its Rs 500-crore investments in new projects and augmenting power generation capacity.
 
It has decided to expand the caustic-chlorine production capacity of its facility at Dahej by 300 tonnes a day and add 50 TPD at the Vadodara facility. The company also plans to set up a 30-35 mega watts plant at Vadodara.
