Sugar recovers on retail buying
Sugar prices recovered modestly at the Vashi wholesale market here today on the back of fresh buying by stockists and bulk consumers amidst higher retail offtake.
Small sugar (S-30) rose by Rs 10/18 per quintal to Rs 2,600/2,651 from Thursday's closing level of Rs 2,582/2,641.
Medium sugar (M-30) also firmed up by Rs 10/15 per quintal to Rs 2,661/2,801 as against Rs 2,646/2,791 yesterday.
The following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal), with the previous rates given in brackets:
Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 2,600/2,651 (Rs 2,582/2,641)
