Moyes warns Man U fans to expect more 'shocking setbacks' like Man City 'drubbing'

Manchester United boss David Moyes has warned his side's fans that they may expect more 'shocking setbacks' like Sunday's 4-1 drubbing by arch-rivals Manchester City.

Moyes admitted that he was left in a state of shock by the emphatic defeat by City but said that the defending Premier League champions may have to suffer more dark days as they adjust to life after Sir Alex Ferguson's 26-year reign.

According to the Mirror, Moyes warned United fans that the they may see more defeats this season from their club following the failure to adequately strengthen in the summer transfer window, although he said that he did not come into United thinking that he will have an easy transition in the job.

Stating that they are in a period of transition, Moyes also said that such defeats may continue to happen as there is a new manager in the club, along with new players, and admitted that United may have won the trophy last season as the other sides were weak.

With United only managing to bring in Marouane Fellaini from a collection of big names like Gareth Bale, Thiago Alcantara, Cesc Fabregas, Ander Herrera, Leighton Baines and Fabio Coentrao, Moyes said that they needed to bring in players who might have just gone straight into the team.
